The boy could have easily escaped from the room but he did not want to be
mistrusted now.

that the lady might take him to jail.

PROSE : THREE QUESTIONS
Q.1 “Forgive me”---who begs forgiveness
and to whom? Why did the man ask forgiveness? How did he forgive him?
Ans. The bearded man begs forgiveness to the Tsar in the
short story, “Three Questions”
>The
bearded man begged for forgiveness from the Tsar because, the Tsar saved his
life when he was severely wounded.
>The
Tsar was extremely pleased to gain the friendship of an enemy so easily. He
forgave the wounded man and said that he would send his servants and the
doctors to attend him. He also promised the man to give back his property.
Q.2 “You are tired”—who said this and to
whom? What made the person tired? What did the speaker do for him?
Ans. The Tsar said this to the hermit, in the short
story, “Three Questions”
>Hermit
was tired because he was quite frail and weak and digging the ground
continuously.
>When
the Tsar reached to the hermit, he saw that the hermit was quite frail and
weak. Hermit was digging the ground in front of his hut. Each time he stuck his
spade into the ground, he breathed heavily. The Tsar took pity on the hermit.
He took the spade from the hermit and started to dig the ground. He wanted to
give some respite to the old man.
Q.3 How did the Tsar nurse the wounded man? OR, What did
the Tsar do to tend the wounded man?
Ans. When the Tsar was asking question to the hermit, he
gave a hint of a bearded man coming towards his hut. Blood was flowing
profusely from his stomach. Coming near the Tsar, he fell fainting on the
ground and moaned feebly. The Tsar and hermit unfastened the man’s clothing.
The Tsar washed the wound carefully. Then he bandaged the place with his
handkerchief and with a towel. The Tsar and hermit bandaged repeatedly.
Finally, blood ceased flowing. Bringing fresh water, the Tsar asked the man for
it. There after the Tsar carried the wounded man with the hermit’s help into
his hut and laid him on bed. Thus the Tsar and the hermit nursed the injured
man with their service.
