Active and Passive Voice:
Active Voice:
In the active voice, the subject of the sentence performs the action.
The focus is on the subject doing something.
Passive Voice:
In the passive voice, the subject of the sentence receives the action. The focus is on the action or the object of the action rather than on who is performing it.
(1) Present Indefinite Tense
Active: S + V. + O
Passive: O/S + is/am/are + V3 + by + S/O
Active: I love you.
Passive: You are loved by me.
Active: Boys do not watch the T.V.
Passive: The T. V. is not watched by boys.
(2) Present continuous:
Active: S + is/am/are + V + ing + O
Passive: O/S + is/am/are + being + V3 + by + S/O.
Active: I am beating the dogs
Passive: The dogs are being beaten by me.
Active: You are not calling me.
Passive: I am not being called by you.
(3) Present Perfect
Active: S + has/have + V3 + O
Passive: O/S + has/have + been + V3 + by + S/O
Active: I have invited you.
Passive: You have been invited by me..
Active: She has not eaten food.
Passive: Food has not been eaten by her.
(4) Past Indefinite :
Active: S + V2 + O.
Passive: O/S + was/were + V3 + by + S/O.
Active: You did not accept my proposal.
Passive: My proposal was not accepted by you.
(5) Past continuous :
Active: S + was/were + Ving + O.
Passive: O/s + was/were + being + V3 + by + S/O
Active. She was not telling a lie.
Passive: A lie was not being told by her.
(6) Past perfect :
Active: S + had + V3 + 0:
Passive: O/S + had been + V3 + by + S/O.
Active: I had written a letter.
Passive A letter had been written by me.
(7) Future Indefinite :
Active: S + Shall/will+V+0.
Passive: O/S + shall/will + be + V3 + by + S/O
Active: We shall solve the problem.
Passive: The problem will be solved by us.
Active: You will not write a book.
Passive: A book will not be written by you.
(8) Future Perfect :
Active: S + Shall/will + have + V3 +0.
Passive: O/S + shall/will + have been + V3 + by + S/O.
Active: I shall have finished my lesson.
Passive: My lesson will have been finished by me
Active: They will not have punished the children
Passive: The children will not have been punished by them.
If subject = They/someone/Somebody/People
Passive Voice =Object+ Verb to be + V3
Active 1. People will helpe me.
Passive: I will be helped.
Active: Someone will invite me.
Passive : I shall be invited.
(B) Active: S+is/am/are/was/were/has/have/had + to +V +O.
Passive:O/S+am/is/are/was/were/has/have/had+to+be+ V3 +by + S/O.
Active: I am to write a letter.
Passive: A letter is to be written (by me).
Active: You are to beat me.
Passive: I am to be beaten (by you).
Active: You were to help him
Passive: He was to be helped (by you.)
Active: I was to solve the problem.
Passive: The problem was to be solved (by me).
Active: Hehas to call him.
Passive: He has to be called (by him)
Active: We had to help you.
Passive: you had to be helped (by us).
(C)Active:S+may/can/should/must +V+O.
Passive:O/S+may/can/should/must+be+V3+by+S/O.
Active: He can do this work.
Passive: This work can be done (by him).
Active: You should obey the elders.
Passive: The elders should be obeyed (by you).
Active: We must follow you.
Passive: You must be followed (byus).
(D) Active: S + should have + V3 + 0.
Passive: O/S + should have been + V3 + by + S/O.
Active: He should have helped me.
Passive: I should have been helped (by him).

Active: Who + Verb + O?
Passive: By whom + Verb 'be' + Subject + V3? Or,
Who + Verb 'be' + Subject + V3 by?
Examples:

or, Who was this grammar written by ?
Active: Who will serve the nation?
Passive: By whom will the nation be served? Or,
